Chelsea Gymnastics Academy was founded by Dr Stefan Kolimechkov in 2022 as the successor of his sole trade gymnastics coaching business called STK SPORT (which operated in London for a period of 10 years between 2013 and 2022). Chelsea Gymnastics Academy brings gymnastics to the community in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, London.
We are listed on the Companies House register, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) register, and we are registered with HMRC.
We provide bespoke personal gymnastics sessions and group general gymnastics classes. We are a club member of British Gymnastics (The National Governing Body for gymnastics in the UK), a club member of London Gymnastics, and a CIMSPA employer partner (CIMSPA is the professional development body for the UK’s sport and physical activity sector).
We were a REPs partner (originally, REPs was the Register of Exercise Professionals in the UK), but we (and many Personal Trainers in the UK) were scammed by them in a deplorable subscription scam in September 2023. Be aware of this brand, now called REPs International and you can also find them as REPs UK. The real REPs UK merged with CIMSPA a few years ago, so this newly formed REPs is not a recognised in the UK, or by any means trusted here and abroad!
All of our team are DBS checked, safeguarding and protecting children qualified.
Dr Stefan Kolimechkov is the Director and Founder of Chelsea Gymnastics Academy. Coach Stefan has 15 years experience coaching children at all levels, ages and abilities in Bulgaria and the United Kingdom. He holds a QTS, Level 3 UKCC in gymnastics, Chartered Activity and Health Practitioner status, and a PhD in Physical Education with his Doctoral thesis on the benefits of gymnastics at primary school age. Stefan is also 3 x London Gymnastics Champion on Rings.
Mary-Anne Gordon has been the Club Secretary / Manager and Deputy Welfare Officer at Chelsea Gymnastics Academy since 2022. She helps uphold safeguarding standards of the club and ensures that the values of the club are embedded. She brings a wealth of experience to the club having worked with various age groups in London. Her qualifications include a Bachelor's of Education degree, QTS, and Designated Safeguard Lead Training.
Mr Maurice Horan has been the Club Welfare Officer at Chelsea Gymnastics Academy since 2022. He plays an important part of our gymnastics club by providing coaching expertise and recommendations on a wide range of areas, and helps uphold safeguarding standards. He holds Level 3 UKCC in gymnastics, and he has a rich history of active contribution in the field of gymnastics in the United Kingdom. Coach Maurice has been an essential part of many gymnastics learning journeys.
Coach Misha has been teaching gymnastics at Chelsea Gymnastics Academy since February 2024. She has a remarkable career of more than two decades in gymnastics, winning over 150 medals and trophies, including the prestigious titles of 2 times Bulgarian Republican Champion for Groups (Junior & Senior). Coach Misha holds a Level 2 gymnastics qualification and she is currently working towards her Level 3 qualification. She strives to create a fun and supportive environment where every child can reach their full potential.
The group classes are limited to only 8 students in a group with a coach-student ratio of 1:4. The classes are 50 min, and they are held in Kensington (St Philip's Church W8 6QH) every Tuesday and Friday, and in Knightsbridge (More House School SW1X 0AA) every Wednesday.

Personal lessons are held at The Kensington Studio (W8 6JP) and in client's homes at the weekends and some week days.
In June 2022, Dr Stefan Kolimechkov incorporated Chelsea Gymnastics Academy in England.
In June 2023, we celebrated our 1 year anniversary during our Annual Performance at St Philip's Church in Kensington and Chelsea, London W8.
